Hi Andrew,
Garmins been supporting geocaching for some time (>1year iirc). The geocaching features of the GPSMAP 60CS was one of the main reasons for my purchase
Its good when you have just found a cache and your GPSr asks if you want to find the next nearest cache (only to realise it is 300km away )
Regards

Great for the American market though were the nearest cache will only be 300m away at most - almost guaranteed!agsmky wrote:Hi Andrew,

Actually the page has been there since the release of the 60C/S at least as the GPSr shows this webpage as the main link for information on geocaching i remember seeing this page when i first got mineAushiker wrote:Hi

On the legend colour, and i think they are pretty similar, I can get into it something along this line:
ACACHE 1/3 T S FFFF
Which isn't heaps, but is a good quick indicator. I use a smart tag from GSAK to get it all in there. It is a magic little addition which means you don't always need the paperwork.
I send all my points in as Caches and then use the notes to see what type they are. I used to send multi's in as rollercoasters, but then they don't show up on the 'find next geocache' search.
I don't know what the limitation of characters actually is - I don't know if the GPS is truncating or if it is GSAK.
Should find some specs I suppose.
I'd liektobe able to set proximity alarms from GSAK as well.

How much information does it store for each cache??
I use GSAK and input the cache name and difficulty/terrain rating. It (60C/S) is limited to 40 characters for the notes, 10 for waypoint name...IIRC
Can you put a whole description/hint etc or is it only a couple of lines??
Screenshots from the GPSMAP 60CS showing information able to be stored.
Hope this helps
