Google Directions - KML File

Once upon a time I used to be able to download a "Route" KML file from Google Maps by appending

Code: Select all

&output=kml

to the link url.

This seems to have stopped working. Can anybody suggest a work-around?

Hi. Not sure about G.Maps but in G.Earth you can make a New Path, right-click it in the list and Save Place As (to KMZ or KML).

Click on Save to My Maps
Open the KML file from there.

I have the same issue - can't get google maps to ask me to do the download of a klm file bit. I tried saving to My Maps but then what? I did save it there but nothing else seems to happen. I can't work out how or where to get the klm file?

Click on the name of the map you created.
Then you should see something like this:

Thanks very much, I got the kml file and then tried to load but got errors:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/site/gca/docroot/my/route/index.php on line 884
Success: Your route has been created successfully

But the Route isn't created, due to the errors I expect.

Thanks very much. I think the problem is that I can't seem to get a file with data in it most of the time. Even though I "save to my maps", when I download it, I think the file is empty maybe. Anyway, I've emailed it to you

How do you delet all the maps you create when trying to save the damned things on google maps??? In My Places there are lots of junk but there doesn't seem to be a delet button???

Click on the down arrow next to the date and hit delete.
