Post by GeoScrubers » 01 July 11 9:53 pm

Anyone had any experience with the Garmin GPSmap78?

I have done a bit of a search of the forums and couldn't find any discussion on it already .... not sure of that's good/bad :?

Thanks :D

This Garmin Wiki might start you in the right direction at least.

Good luck :D.

Freddo, Astro and 4-fun all own 78's. It is the floating version of the 62. Same good things. And it floats. No problems from my perspective. Great paperless caching.

I quite like my 78s. It is the marine version of the 62s. Great to have all geocaching info in the one tool. I regularly load 3,300+ caches, 800+ waypoints and 13,000+ Custom POI weekly. Neat to have each map loaded as a separate image file - makes for quick processing and loading of map updates.

It is a quantum leap over the now aging 60/76CSX series.
