extract track info from vito navigator II?

Post by alpha993 » 07 October 04 8:49 pm

equipment: ipaq 3970 with CF GPS and VITO Navigator II

having just returned from a nsw north coast holiday, I sit down to extract a GPS track of our travels and find the track file from navigator has a *.smt extension which appears to be a propriety VITO format for their other product SmartMap

I tried opening the file with notepad but got pages of garbage

has anyone successfully extracted track files from navigator?
(i was hoping to plot on a simple map of NSW)

According to http://www.pocketpccity.com/software/po ... ketpc.html the export format is an ESRI shape file. If you can find someone with OziExplorer they should be able to import the shape file.
