thanks, that's interesting, we thought we got rid of the funny character issues
could you please email us a copy of the gpx file you used to generate those errors so we can test some more? our address is ideology at the geocaching site of your choice! thanks

no worries, not your fault - we've since put up a notice on the import page to help others. we'll put in a proper fix in the next few days
