google satellite/maps - beta testing [closed]
we have added google satellite maps with caches marked on them
they are currently in beta
we've added a link to them on each cache page
meanwhile here's an example:
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0002.gmap
they currently show the surrounding 50 caches
once we get the icons worked out we plan to indicate archived caches, found caches, etc
please let us know how it goes

IE6.
I get a javascript error:
Line: 145
Char: 53
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0002.gmap
Then the page renders with the top and side navigation area but no content in the main body.

c@w, sorry about that. we added some resizing code and tested it on mac and pc, but forgot to test it with internet explorer. we've removed the resizing code and ie works fine again. supporting the eccentricities of all the browers is a nightmare!
gin51e, if you are using internet explorer it should work now. if not, please let us know the browser and operating system you are using and we'll see what we can do.

I gave this a try today and all looks good. I have one small request though. When you click on the marker to identify the cache the shadow of the balloon does not fall correctly, i.e., it does not follow the lay of the land like a real shadow would.
Any chance of correcting this?
Apart from that congrats on a job well done!!!
