locationless gpx [closed]

Post by Team Red Roo » 11 February 05 3:43 pm

After a couple of gpx downloads, I've noticed that GSAK doesn't display the normal locationless icon for GAxxxx caches (GA0097, GA0098 etc).
Also is it possible to get cache downloads for GC caches withing the gpx file? No cache information or logs, just the cache id and location - it's what GC supply freely in their .loc files.
Wayne

aha, it looks as if that's because we are giving them a type of "Locationless Cache" and GSAK is expecting the type "Locationless (Reverse) Cache"

we want to standardise these names across the various cache listing sites but we haven't done so yet. we personally think the type should be as short as possible and not include words like (Reverse) but conversely don't want Clyde to have to support all the different permuations, so we've changed the types on gca to "Locationless (Reverse) cache" for the time being.

we'd prefer to keep the gpx files free of any secondary site stuff because we'd like to move to a nice friendly open-source licencing model for data and it would be tricky to do so if some of the data in the gpx file was from the secondary site with its licencing

Thanks for the answers - but are you saying that the secondary site charges you to get your information or is it just an agreement? 8)
