With external caches all one colour it's a bit hard to distinguish between `new' and `recommended'. Maybe one could be underlined or in italics. Also maybe unavailable could be Strikethrough and archived Double Strikethrough.

good point - we've reverted to the original colours and will try to use shading to distinguish sources where appropriate
