We have 3. Combined, GCA and dragonZone. They are all diven by different criteria so you'll need to check the one for the criteria you are interested in. This is always a good place to start http://geocaching.com.au/cacher/lucky1955/ then check what grahs are available.

New dragonZone Missions

by Geocaching Australia
Last week we introduced dragonZone Missions, with a set of three 'Well Rounded Geocacher' trophies.

There are now five extra Missions available in the form of a 30, 60, 90, 180 and 365 day streak trophy.

If you can log valid dragonZone caches for 30 consecutive days, you'll be rewarded with the Mini Streaker trophy, as well as 250 dZ points to your bank.

If you can keep your find streak going for a full 365 days in a row, you'll not only pick up all five trophies, but a huge cumulative total of 7750 dZ points!

The new trophies can be seen at http://geocaching.com.au/my/dragonzonetrophies/

You can keep track of your progress in your graphs, ie:

GA10000

Posted: 06 March 17 8:39 pm
by Geocaching Australia
As Geocaching Australia players may be aware, we are coming up on our 10,000th geocache hide, i.e. the geocache numbered GA10000 will be reached sometime in the next few weeks or months.

To promote this milestone, we are offering the Geocaching Australia community an opportunity to be the lucky geocacher who gets to hide this landmark geocache. We're looking for a geocache that is worthy of the number, something that represents and advocates for Geocaching Australia, and is in the true spirit of the game.

You'll have 100 words to tell us about the geocache that you will hide should you be the cacher who receives the honour of owning GA10000. Each geocacher may only submit one entry, so think carefully before sending through your entry.

The geocache may be any physical type and can be located anywhere in Australia, or be a moveable.

Please note, the GA10000 cache number has already been reserved for this competition.

Would you like to win something? Maybe add to your pathtag collection, or maybe even start a collection? Well, here's your chance. Enter the Geocaching Australia Weekly Trivia and you’ll be in with a chance to do so. Starting on Wednesday 15 March, we will upload a question here and on our Facebook page for you to answer. The answer will be found somewhere on the GCA site….maybe somewhere in the statistical graphs, maybe somewhere in the dragonZone area. You job will be to simply track it down and send the answer through to us.

To send your entry in, simply PM to our Facebook page…...or if you don’t use Facebook, a PM to ‘Richary’ via the Geocaching Australia website will do. PLEASE DON’T LOG YOUR ANSWER HERE, as that will just give the game away.

Entries will close at 8.00pm on the following Monday. All correct entries will be placed into a randomiser and the winner drawn on the Tuesday. The winner will be announced on the next Wednesday when the next trivia question will be posted. (We will then send the winner’s prize out at the same time….if we don’t have your address, we drop you and e-mail to grab it).

It’s all just a bit of fun with the chance to win something.

Now to get you in the mode, can you answer this question:

In which year did Geocaching Australia have over 35,000 finds on caches/trigs?

No need to send an answer in for this one, it’s just an example of the questions that maybe asked each week. See how you go…….and watch out next for the start of the competition on Wednesday 15 March. (We will list the answer to this question on Wednesday 15 March)

Geocaching Australia Weekly Trivia

Here we are Wednesday 15 March……and the first week of the GCA weekly trivia competition.

So, let gets straight into the first question….and please remember…..don’t post your answer directly to this thread, you can enter via a Private Message to ‘richary’ through the site*:
*(If you're not sure how to send a message through the site, check the bottom of this post for a basic 'how to' guide)

What is the ‘Title’ of the 4th rank in Geocaching Australia’s dragonZone game.

To find the answer, head over to Geocaching Australia and start your search.

Entries close next Monday 20th March at 8.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time. The answer, and our first winner, will be announced next Wednesday.

Good luck.

And for those who tired our teaser question last week, the answer was 2012 (with a total of 35,172.) The attached link shows the appropriate graph. http://geocaching.com.au/stats/graphs/g ... ds_by_year

To send an e-mail through Geocaching Australia:

Click on ‘0 New Message’ link near the top of this page
Under options on the left hand side, click on ‘Compose message’
Under ‘SEND TO’ and the box under ‘Username’ type Richary, then click ‘Add [to]’ This will place ‘Richary’ in the ‘To’ field of the message
In the ‘Subject’ field, you can simply write Weekly Trivia Competition.
In the ‘Message Body’ area, write your answer. By all means, add a ‘Hi Richary’ and ‘Thanks’ at the end of the message, but the important thing is to list you answer.
Then click on ‘Submit’ and you can watch your message disappear into cyberspace.

If you questions on any other aspects of the competition, please ask here.

Yes, Facebook is still an option, however this weeks question hasn't been uploaded yet.......sometimes life gets in the way during a week day. Be assured it will be up loaded sometime today......and not to far away.

As for last weeks question, no-one 'won' as it was just an example of what will happen each week......and there was nothing to win. The correct answer, and a link to the graph that shows it is included in the above post.

Well, our first weekly trivia competition has been run and won.

AND THE WINNER IS....
The winner of our first weekly trivia competition is BUHFUHGUH from Victoria. They were one of 19 who entered the competition via either Facebook (9 entries) or the GCA Forums (10 entries).

Congratulations BUHFUHGUH, your shiny new pathtag is in the mail.

As for the answer, 99% of entries correctly answered MERCHANT as the 4th title level in dragonZone. Just for the record, level 1 is Dragon Fodder, level 2 is Peasant and level 3 is Citizen. Do you know what your level you're currently at? If not, hopefully you can check here to see.

Thanks to all who entered week 1.......Our week 2 question will be posted here shortly...
