Well now you can go for it and get GA10000.
But wait first you will need to find GA9996, 9997, 9998, 9999 to get the information required.

There are many other GCA caches to look for in the Blue Mountains.

Post Re: GA10000 now active.
I was thinking about it this morning but the weather wasn't brilliant today, plus having had a flat tyre I am running on the spare which is supposedly limited to 80 kph - that would have annoyed people on the M2/M7/M4 to get there. I was also on call but that isn't far enough from home it would have been a problem if a call had come in.

Surprised nobody else went and grabbed it, I might have to schedule this for next weekend if the weather is good..

Team MavEtJu and I were going to have a go at this one today until we saw that the FTF had gone yesterday. Will attack everything in the area at a more leisurely pace now.

Post Seeking advice on public transporting away from this cache
Congrats on the win!

I'm plotting an assault on this for a Sunday (huzzah cheap travel!) and could do with some advice.

The 4 waypoint caches are close enough to a bus stop that I can public transport my way to the start (train to Penrith/Emu Plains, 691 to a bus stop, ~20min walk to GA9996).

Getting home is looking a bit strange though.

Straight line distance, Lapstone is the train station closest to GA10000.
However, Google maps has plotted me a circuitous route of going back the way I came, getting a 1688 bus that does a bit of a roundabout circle of roads to Lapstone station, and getting a train from there.
The purely-walking-to-Lapstone option does a similarly circuitous thing, sticking to sealed roads, making it about an hour's walk to either Lapstone or Emu Plains stations.

People familiar with the area - do you have any insight?
Is it not possible to just walk south?
I'm seeing Siding Lookout and also the Lapstone Zig Zag Railway/Walking Track as interesting spots on the map - are there tracks to Lapstone that Google simply doesn't know about?

Knowing my luck, I'll finish up late enough to have just missed any last buses and will end up having to walk to a train station anyway #-o

Any insights, advice, etc. would be welcome!

:D :griffin

OK, here goes you can indeed get there the way you planned with 691 bus, 688-689 would get you closer but timetable may not be suitable on weekend.
From the end cache you can follow the footpath along the GWH (Protected by concrete barrier!) into Governors Drive (It goes under the GWH) and then turn right into Hume Road then right again into Dawes Place to Explorers Road to Lapstone Station.
The OSM map will show you the way, from the cache page on the R/H side click on Google map then on the top L/H use the map drop menu to click on OSM.

Enjoy the day and of course the caches.
