pm sitting in outbox since 11.00 pm 15.12.16

Post by whitewebbs » 16 December 16 5:57 pm

Hi
I find the message system on this site very hard to use. I sent a pm last night to Ziggiau in response to a survey around 11 pm last night. When I checked this morning it was still in my outbox so I copied and pasted it into an email which I sent. I have no idea if that was received but I do have a copy of that at least. The pm is still in my outbox so no sure what I am doing wrong, I thought if you hit send it went. Any advice would be appreciated. Also when searching for users from in box it takes you away from the pm you started and you start all over somewhere else.

It will sit in your outbox until it is read by the recipient.

Hi folks,
I'm visiting Sydney for a few days (not much time for geocaching) and I've found a couple of interesting "City Animals". I believe a dear friend to many here who owned these caches is sadly no longer with us. I'm just wondering what the protocol for having your virtual find verified would be? Is there a way the admins can hack them and add a verification entry thing like history caches so these caches and the cachers memory live on?

What's the cache?
In terms of the cache owner being no longer with us, do you mean passed on or has left the game?
In general I don't wait for anyone to verify a virtual find, I do the thing, load the photo, make the log, away I go. If I get it wrong, they can contact me and we'll work it out.

Owned by The Spindoctors (Darren), so sadly no longer with us. Makes his earthcache on the other site easy to find as well :)

Orphaned effectively, but the same as now defunct virtuals on the other site or earthcaches I just claim the find at the time to keep the finds in order, and wait to be told if I have got it wrong. If the CO is no longer around or active that isn't my problem, I know in my heart that I have done what is required.

Up to us a site I guess if we want to enforce the checking in some way, but it would require someone else editing the cache listing to add the automated checker.
