Server update
All,
We are planning to cut over to the 'new' server Saturday 17th of December.
Flights booked and all things looking good.
As part of that I'm doing a final polish of the migration procedure and will be doing the odd database backup in the following few evenings (starting now)
Performance might occasionally bog down ad the logs/cache tables lock while they are being backed up.
Sorry for this.
I'll keep it until after 9pm most nights where I can.

Re: Server update
All the best for an easy change over to the new server tomorrow. Hope it all goes well for you. The last server change over I was involved with we had the " Murphys Law" contribution and it took two hours longer than it should have.

Re: Server update
I'm keeping my mouth shut as I'm VERY superstitious about server upgrades.

Re: Server update
Logging and download caches via api is heaps faster now, practicality instant, I originally thought it was network, now I'm sure it's old server, thanks

Re: Server update
I've been checking out the 'frequent hider' and 'frequent finder' lists on various geocachers and the results are on my screen within a second or two. Previously this took waaaay longer.
Many thanks to our developers for getting our site to this level of efficiency.

We had so many limits, they are now all gone.
