uribeacon

I've been searching for a promising non-garmin beacon cache. This tech looks promising (though expensive).

https://learn.adafruit.com/google-physi ... ng-started

It seems to require shortened uri (??) url. Can the devs provide a shortened link to either a code (such as a history cache) which people then enter to show they found the cache? I had read that there is a 17 character limit (excluding the http://www. part).

Otherwise it can be set up as a multi with a bitly link (though the page needs to be hosted somewhere which is fine for me but maybe not others).

Is that your own site for redirecting to the gca site?

Yep. Also redirects to others like GC / OpenCaching and others.

As for providing a verification code in the URL, no, because that link can then be shared etc and would be abused by those who abuse these things.
