Rotating an image in a GCA Page
Hi there,
I have uploaded an image onto my 2 GeGnome pages, but for some reason, they get rotated when they appear so are sideways. Any Ideas how to fix this, or perhaps some HTML that can be added to rotate?
Cheers,
Adriaan

Re: Rotating an image in a GCA Page
Are you uploading directly from a phone?
I load my photographs into Photoshop and make any corrections there first, before uploading to the net. There are other cheaper programs that do the same thing. Even word can rotate images. Vertical images taken from a phone are likely to load sideways, if the evidence I see of uploaded images on the net is a guide.

This will be fixed in a future update of the site. For now you'll have to manually rotate them with a graphics package.

Re: Rotating an image in a GCA Page
Thanks for the reply. The version I have uploaded is the correct way around (I rotated it in windows ) but it seems to rotate once uploaded to the cache page.

Some image programs don't properly rotate images, you might need to try another package.ahomburg wrote:Thanks for the reply. The version I have uploaded is the correct way around (I rotated it in windows ) but it seems to rotate once uploaded to the cache page.

Re: Rotating an image in a GCA Page
We don't do anything to your photos only resize them. What's happening is your program is saying they've been rotated, but they haven't. Only the meta data is changed so some programs will present them as having been rotated. But in reality they haven't been.

They are upright when I look at them on the computer before I upload them.... just sayin'
Re: Rotating an image in a GCA Page
The program you uses uses the Exif data about the orientation. Currently the software on the GCA website doesn't do this.LouiseAnn wrote:They are upright when I look at them on the computer before I upload them.... just sayin'
They were in the progress of changing this, I don't know what the current status is.

The version of our image handling software on the current dserver cannot handle EXIF rotationsTeam MavEtJu wrote:The program you uses uses the Exif data about the orientation. The new box does and all this will work once I get it online.
