This is a volunteer position. Repeat. No money will change hands. You do stuff for the love of it.

The position is unpaid but you will be able to use any app you develop as part of your own portfolio of work. This role would suit someone who is an experienced developer looking to increase or showcase their skills or a recent graduate looking to be creative and provide their first app into the market.
You will be:

- Able to develop iOS applications using XCode and ObjectiveC / Swift or your preferred choice of language

You should posses:
- 4+ years (preferable) experience in Development
- Excellent coding skills in your language of choice
- Experience interfacing iOS apps with web applications and conducting bi-directional information exchange via XML or JSON interface mechanisms
- An eye for creative design
- An understanding of responsive design
- Strong communication skills with the ability to openly discuss ideas
- Ability to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external), strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive solutions in a changing and complex technical environment
- A high level of understanding of geospatial data and their relationships
- Experience working on all phases of applications programming activities, independent of supervisory guidance
- Knowledge of coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining programs

You will also:
- Provide your own computer / development environment
- Provide your own test equipment
- Liaise with beta testers to confirm new functionality prior to wide release
- Preferably be based in any state of Australia or New Zealand. These countries are preferred as being in the same timezone as our primary community and current developer team but candidates outside these countries will be considered.
- Provide the code you develop under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 deed. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/

If you have these skills and have the right approach to providing free, volunteer services to Geocaching Australia, please apply with a portfolio that showcases your work to caughtatwork@gmail.com or feel free to reply to this post.

As mentioned elsewhere are happy to co-operate to get that done. Better than nothing!

The above still stands in that case however.

So do you have a wishlist of things you want to have the app to be able to do on the Geocaching Australia website?

We just launched our new iOS app called Cachly. Very interested in seeing how we could integrate GCA features into it. Let me know what you think.
