Geocaching Australia has an opportunity for the right Apple iOS app developer to join its ranks.

This is a volunteer position. Repeat. No money will change hands. You do stuff for the love of it.
The position is unpaid but you will be able to use any app you develop as part of your own portfolio of work. This role would suit someone who is an experienced developer looking to increase or showcase their skills or a recent graduate looking to be creative and provide their first app into the market.
You will be:
- Responsible for developing a screen size independent iOS mobile application for Geocaching Australia
- Able to develop iOS applications using XCode and ObjectiveC / Swift or your preferred choice of language
You should posses:
- 4+ years (preferable) experience in Development
- Excellent coding skills in your language of choice
- Experience interfacing iOS apps with web applications and conducting bi-directional information exchange via XML or JSON interface mechanisms
- An eye for creative design
- An understanding of responsive design
- Strong communication skills with the ability to openly discuss ideas
- Ability to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external), strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive solutions in a changing and complex technical environment
- A high level of understanding of geospatial data and their relationships
- Experience working on all phases of applications programming activities, independent of supervisory guidance
- Knowledge of coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining programs
You will also:
- Provide your own computer / development environment
- Provide your own test equipment
- Liaise with beta testers to confirm new functionality prior to wide release
- Preferably be based in any state of Australia or New Zealand. These countries are preferred as being in the same timezone as our primary community and current developer team but candidates outside these countries will be considered.
