According to our change table, the value had a trailing space and now it doesn't.

From the current GPX file:
<groundspeak:name>Basil's 4th of July </groundspeak:name>

Note the additional space at the end of the name. That wasn't there the last time the file was loaded.

The may have been trimmed the last time it was loaded and not this time, depending on the source of the material. i.e. A GPX file from GS, or a GPX file from GSAK, or something else.

How useful is this information anyway? Should we keep it or ignore it?

If the emails are occurring on a Friday morning then it is possible it is somehow related to my export of caches for ACT/NSW from GSAK. In an effort to help keep logs and stats up to date since the automated work stopped (I read the faeries have decided to have a holiday due to server load  ) I have been taking my weekly PQs which come in on a Wednesday and Thursday night, filtering out for anything GC that hasn't updated, copying that to a new database and doing a get geocache data in GSAK to catch any archived logs which I then import here. I then filter on anything logged in the last 9 days, copy that to another database, delete logs older than 9 days and generate 3 GPX files which seems to cover all the ones with new logs. This generally happens on Thursday night but might occasionally be Friday.

However I'm not changing the export settings each week so I don't know why it would be changing the name from week to week, the export settings for waypoint name is simply %Code and cache description is %Name. Perhaps someone else is doing the same as me but with slightly different GSAK settings leading to the variation? Maybe a rogue space before or after the %Name which wouldn't be visible on the screen (I have just checked and mine definitely doesn't).

If I am somehow causing problems I am happy to stop and just import anything I have found straight from the Groundspeak GPX file for each cache so my stats stay correct.

I also do an update of ACT caches on a Sunday night. I run 2 PQs which are sett to capture any logs in the previous 7 days. I import these directly to GCA and then into my GSAK database where I check to see if there have been 5 new logs added to the caches in that period and for any that have 5 new logs I run a "Recent logs" command to get the last 200 logs on those caches and then create a GPX file for them and import that to GCA.

Like Richary, I do not manipulate the cache name at all before importing and just use %Name and %Code in the settings.

I also run all the other states (and NZ) using the same method at some time during the week.

It's probably worth noting in troubleshooting that I haven't seen the same symptom occurring in the feed here in Sydney, so if crew 153 is doing the NSW feed as well during the week then it doesn't appear his and my uploads are clashing (unless he is doing it the same night as me).

I believe that C@W recently changed the feed program to allow the update of the cache name field as it was not being done before. Possibly there are caches out there that are still catching up to previous errors. It would be interesting to see if the same caches keep re-occurring in notifications.
