Notification of new topics... [closed]

Post by leek » 14 May 03 12:12 am

i!...
Is there any way we can implement an e-mail notification of new topics in the forum (preferably by section, but if not globally)...
I currently get notifications of new messages in threads I've contributed to, but new threads slip through the net...

The only way I know is to check the forums every time you log on. I sometimes check the forums 6 or 7 times a day. Just depends how busy I am.

We here at Team Chaos Labs have developed an exclusive, patented and non-destructive method of scanning for new posts.

We call it the Educational Yearning Extraction System, or E.Y.E.S. for short.

Using our E.Y.E.S. is simple, the results are immediate, there is no need to wade through the thousands of unsolicited bulk emails for toner cartidges we get each day to get to the information we desire. We simply log on the the GCA forum and fire up our E.Y.E.S. and away we go.

The best thing about our E.Y.E.S. is they go everywhere with us, and are calibrated to respond to the full spectrum of visible light. They are also good for finding the occasional geocache or two.

Gee I wish that toners were the only emails that I get
I think it must be the E.Y.E.S. system that I use as well.
Just wish that I didn't have to log in each time though.

It would seem that the implementation of the E.Y.E.S. system does work :)

I used my Navigational Olfactory Search Engine, or NOSE, to sniff out the following URL, that works well in combination with EYES for a summary of NEWS (Nagging, Empathising; Whinging, Solving).

I bet you can't believe your External Audio Reception System.

;)

An email notification might not be such a bad thing though.
