GA Pocket Query
GA Pocket Query
For the past 2 weeks my GA pocket query has been faulty. There is no attachment to the weekly email and when I click on the link http://www.geocaching.com.au/my/query/update/ the GA page shows an error message saying "Error The query you have selected does not belong to you". Mysterious and not very helpful. Any idea what the problem is

Re: GA Pocket Query
Which query?
Query 2234 Tasmania Update GCA is 18MB. That won't go out via email. It's too large. You need to chop it up to keep it less than about 10MB.
Query 5005 GCA Nuvi is 17MB. Same sort of problem. The email system won't handle files that large.
If you are using a different query name, let me know and I'll check out why it thinks you're not the owner.

Which query is not working?
(If you go to http://geocaching.com.au/my/query and click on 'update' on the query in question you will be taken to a page like 'http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/update/xxxx' where xxxx is the Query Number)

Re: GA Pocket Query
2234 comes as a zip file and I last received it on the 16th March (last Saturday) and my second and only other query, 5005.zip, arrived on Wed 13th March. I don't know what's going on as the file I received this morning that had no attachment came in an email named -.zip
Re: GA Pocket Query
That may have been a different issue. I too got an email with the same name but assumed that as I couldn't get on to the forum (and then the site) due to too many connections(?) that this issue was fall out from that.GoldJ wrote:I don't know what's going on as the file I received this morning that had no attachment came in an email named -.zip
One of the experts will be able to confirm (or otherwise) that theory.

That helps.
Major problem with something hitting the system ... badly.
It's recovered, but that would explain why the file didn't come out.
Re: GA Pocket Query
Thank you for sorting that out. I'll wait & see if the "correct" file turns up - but that still doesn't explain why I am able to have files that apparently are too big for GA to send via email, or does the fact that it's a zip file make a difference?

Zip will be the difference. I was looking at the GPX file, not the zipped version. My bad.GoldJ wrote:Thank you for sorting that out.
