Stats Removal from GCA?
Stats Removal from GCA?
Is there a way my stats can be removed from GCA (ie so people cannot compare themselves to me?). Preferably without having to leave GCA? Thanking you in advance.

There is no current method for excluding people from the stats.
Not to say that there can't be, but there isn't at the moment.

Thanks for the reply C@W
Would changing my GC username in my GCA settings "break" the link? So that future stats don't come accross?
I know its not ideal - but was just a thought.

Re: Stats Removal from GCA?
We would then start collecting your new stats against your new name. So, that's probably not going to work as you hope.
We have an anonymiser function (somewhere), but I'm 100% it's not used everywhere.
I'll have a look.
We might be able to run an "anonymity" jobby every night to anonymise your (or anyones) stats.
Not sure if that will work as the "anonymous" id would then appear to have found tens of thousands of caches.

I think I remember reading you doing this for Tangles years ago if that helps to see what you did there...

That's what I was referring to although you wouldn't know that.Big Matt and Shell wrote:I think I remember reading you doing this for Tangles years ago if that helps to see what you did there...
Problem is most of the stats ignore that.
It was done for logs (mainly).

All we can do right now is anonymise your logs, however all your logs will vanish from your profile on this site.
Also take in to account that people will still be able to look at your stats on GC (although you have them blocked I see) or compile their own from logs/GSAK should they wish, totally outside our realm.

Why do you want to do this?
Re: Stats Removal from GCA?
Would that also affect the stats for each cache that had been found by the user? One less log from that user, or would the log still appear, but from "Anonymous"?CraigRat wrote:All we can do right now is anonymise your logs, however all your logs will vanish from your profile on this site.

So that's why Tangles was always labelled as such. I had wondered about that many times!caughtatwork wrote:That's what I was referring to although you wouldn't know that.Big Matt and Shell wrote:I think I remember reading you doing this for Tangles years ago if that helps to see what you did there...
