Why wait until it happens? Let's not tempt fate. I call it planning

There are also watchlists which can impact as well as PM and forum notifications. Emailed My Queries are also problematical.

We catch all bounce emails and sooner rather than later if we get a 5** bounce we will be automating the "turn off" of all emails from the site to that email address, be they logs, watchlists, queries, etc.

Good idea. I administer a couple of Yahoo groups and they provide stats on soft and hard bounces. With about 110 members, we get a few soft bounces just about every time we send out a message, but most of these are temporary situations such as full mailboxes or other local glitches.

I just looked at some rough stats on cache logs.
We have 4 caches found at least once per day
...........285.........................................week
............1163..................................... month
............7395..........................less than once per week.

We have a job that catches the email and the reason code.
Not worried about 3's and 4's.
5's are fatal, so they're the ones that would be actioned.

We have just over 4,000 bounced emails this calendar year. While not substatial, good community citizenship encourages me to avoid it where we can.

It may be stalkerish.
On the other hand maybe you can IF the other person agrees.
A thought that you could add them to a list and if they click YES, then you can get their summary.
Or you could add them as a mate and check your mates logs.

Anyone want a beta test of the "email summary" for logs on your caches?
An email containing all logs on your caches over the last 24 hours, sent around midnight, once and only once.

So of the 11 people who are using the summary log function, how's that working out for you?
