Re: How many people still visit the forums

I use Facebook and I like it :D. It's immediate, in my line of site and I don't have to remember to visit. I am a newbie cacher and I only use the app(s). BUT, I do love the continuity of a discussion on the forum and not loosing it once it's not the latest thing. I come here for the big, important ...

Re: So where/how do you draw the line re safety?

You raise an interesting point and it certainly can't be overlooked. But I think, as you've noted, you get that gut feeling when you know a location is just not quite right. I do equal amounts of caching on my own and with the geofamily and there's a very different feel to each. I've had to ask myse...

Re: 2014/15 Moveable Challenge/Race

I'd love to add some GCA finds but a) there aren't many near me and I don't have the opportunity to travel regularly and b) there are more than enough non-PM GC caches to keep me busy for a long while.

Maybe people value a GC :D higher than a GCA one?

Re: Dubious Finds

And if they do log in one big post-holiday lump, even if the finds were across several days, surely you would change the find date for each entry to match reality? Even if you were trying to do a dodgy armchair entry you'd think they'd change the dates....

Re: Urban Caches

Eternal problem Yurt, people who dabble and don't fully commit to anything. Which is fine if dabbling was always your intent to see if it's something you could continue to do in the future, but as you say, it mucks things up for everyone else if they don't stick with it. But how do you convert the d...

Re: Urban Caches

Thanks for explaining the rationale Zal, it's as I thought. If you put the care and effort (and expense) into the creation of an awesome cache you certainly wouldn't want it muggled. Again, being an urban cacher up to this point, my exposure has been mostly to smalls and below. When reading about so...

Urban Caches

Being a city girl and a very new cacher most of my finds so far have been located in urban areas where there don't seem to be opportunities to hide larger (even genuine small) caches. The larger caches that I've found have been tucked into hidden bushland areas where disguise is easier and muggle mo...

Re: Where are we all from??? (introduce yourself) parts 1&2

Thanks for the welcome JAC. Reports on how I'm getting on - I'm diagnosing myself with a full blown addiction! I may only have started three weeks ago, but I haven't missed a day so far! And if I'm not out finding I'm reading the forums (and occasionally people get fed in my house too). I have oodle...

Re: Where are we all from??? (introduce yourself) parts 1&2

Just dropping in to say hello - I'm Eva (aka: ziggiau or just plain ziggi) and a caching newbie who has two geokids in tow for most finds. This seems to be a distinct advantage as it offers two extra sets of eyes and smaller hands that are willing to hunt for things in places I may be reluctant to. ...
