Re: GCA cache visibility query - eTrex 30
So I've figured out what my problem is. In case others have a similar issue, I'll try to explain it. It looks like I'm up against the 5000 cache limit on the eTrex while I'm loading caches. I have 5 GC PQs with 1000 caches each but they overlap a bit so I only end up with about 3600 total. I also ha...

Re: GCA cache visibility query - Oregon 650 (and etrex 30)
I do the same. I just copy the gpx files from my queries onto the SD card from the GPS. I just did an experiment. I deleted all the gpx files from the GPS and copied only the single GA4865.gpx from the cache page and it didn't show. I loaded GA5874.gpx from it's cache page as well (nearby cache that...

Re: GCA cache visibility query - Oregon 650
Although it looks like GA4865 doesn't show up as either found or not on the GPS but works on my Android app (locus) using the same gpx file.

Re: GCA cache visibility query - Oregon 650
Oops. Actually mine looks like it's simply because I'd already found it. I can see it if I choose "show found". I missed it because I don't usually use the GPS when chasing movables so I don't have many marked as found and didn't check til now.

Re: GCA cache visibility query - Oregon 650

Re: dragonZone
Well done Citizen :-) Thanks for finding the series at Brimbank Park. You seemed to find all bar one, which I highly suspect has gone missing now. That series is a great way for a cacher to build up some quick dZPoints in a confined park. Your double points bonus certainly made that zone very, very...

Re: dragonZone
Having the bonus weekend when I'd already planned to pick up the Pet Rock at Brimbank series was a huge boon.Zalgariath wrote:Congrats to geo-jas being the first Dragon Zone 'Citizen'

Re: dragonZone
I'd been hoping that I could pull that trick  since I realized I had 7 days to add points but I kept on forgetting and adding the points too quickly or taking too long to move them. No need to bother anymore though, I don't suppose you'll fall for it again anytime soon. :cerberus Next step...

Re: dragonZone
A lack of tactical thinking brought me undone over the weekend. A move and additional points allocated and I thought I controlled the cache and the zone. Some better thinking from a rival clan and they now control 50% of the caches in the zone which makes it a shared zone. Dang! I'd been hoping tha...

I left some new ones for you.caughtatwork wrote:Well, if you'd stop nicking my caches I'd tell you the secret formula
I can't either use my points to take control of the caches I've just picked up or to find some others that I can control more cheaply. I've got a week to think about it.

Re: dragonZone
Now if only I could come up with a theory as to how many points to allocate. The possibilities are giving me a headache.

Re: dragonZone
I've just noticed the tips on my dragonzone page. There's a few things in there that changes the way I've been playing. I'll have to rethink a few things when I find caches next.
My mind is reeling from the possibilities. I think I need a drink.

Re: dragonZone
Thanks for the reply.
I was kind of expecting that from the "No Rules" nature of the game but thought I'd check anyway.
