Re: FTF Prizes - Usual Practice
Official Stance???? Geocaching belongs to the people. You are the official representative of geocaching. What you think is what counts. Don't let it become anything else. Do not give your official power away to anyone else. Granted Groundspeak can control your listing on their platform. That is the...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
Gee you're a hard crowd to please. If there isn't a thread on too short logs, then there is one on too long logs. At the end of the day it's up to the finder to write about their journey as they see fit. If you want to read them, do so, of not just let them go. Life is too short to worry about if s...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
Have a go at the dribble in this log-I love reading a good log on my caches, but this? The cache was found at 11am and they still talked about the cold and flu tablets they'd just bought, and what they were having for dinner, and their laundry. Not really neaded [-X They were obviously playing some...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
You're not the only one who dislikes waffle in logs for the sake of word count - unless it is reasonably interesting and about the cache experience it shouldn't be in the log. A little side-note here. Long logs aren't JUST for the benefit of the owner or a sign of thankfulness to them... Heck, I kn...

Re: Caching games this year?
So they are all slang bingo calls. So the game is based on a bingo game. the question would be how to generate the card and what is going to be used to represent the numbers. Will it be a race as the numbers are called and prizes for various pattern on the card. Is each individual got there own card...

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
For the Aquatics requirement, can you complete a cache that you DO swim or wade to, even though it is not a requirement? ie I could have walked to it on dry land but I chose to plunge into freezing cold water to get to it? Yes. Photographic evidence is needed either way. Photo evidence of your aqua...

It would be interesting if the proposed route markers could incorporate a cache in them.

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Another hint? Do you live in Zytheran land? You are probably going to hate me as well. Especially if your closest unfound cache is one of his. Pray to the caching gods that someone in the next week hides one closer to your home location. [-o< That event on July 1st is sooooooo close to been my clos...

Belken, no, that wasn't me at bald Rock and I'd be keen to meet up with a Townsvillian or two just so I make sure I'm going about all this the right way... I didn't think you were after I saw your occupation as a teacher. He was originally from South Africa which is what made me think you were one ...

Re: I knew it....
Are you the man who I met at the BAld Rock Carpark. If so welcome. I suppose if you are not welcome also. You.ve managed to get the two account slinked and asked a hard question to answer all in one day. At this stage use Geocaching Australia to talk to us as not many Australians hang out on the Gro...

Re: Groundspeak "listing-service exclusivity on Mega-Events"
For what it's worth. I just finished a nice hour and a bit walk and my thoughts are thus. No matter what Groundspeak says we do very little or nothing. The site supports free and open and as such should be free and open. The benefits the site has in making it the place to meet for Australian geocach...

Re: Groundspeak "listing-service exclusivity on Mega-Events"
I lost my last post.
How many Mega events has GCA sponsored. I believe the answer is none. I don't see where the occupying of a booth is taboo. Just the listing and sponsorship.
