Re: Anyone Geocached with a HTC Smartphone?

Thanks guys muchly appreciated... CragRat: thanks for the link, looks some great stuff there, have you tried C:geo yet? Thoughts on that if you have? There seems to be a mixture of good and bad for these smartphones, I guess it depends where you are and what you are doing with it that either makes y...

Anyone Geocached with a HTC Smartphone?

What Software did you use etc.... I understand they are not as good as a dedicated GPS also, so no need to tell me to go buy o...

With mine I had to go into the control panel under Device Manager and then go into the imaging devices which was about the 10th one down the list of devices. Of course this will vary between computers... I clicked the little + sign to extend the list of imaging devices then right clicked and selecte...

Usually the Child friendly attribute on a cache is enough to tell you the cache might be in a playground. Some people like to use this some don't.

I have a couple of caches located in Playgrounds, every time I have been there they have been deserted.

I tend to leave playground caches till night time or really early mornings before the kids are out at play. I dont have a problem setting caches near playgrounds as it gives my Geokids something extra to do whilst out caching.

Thats an awesome effort to all cachers and all those involved in the survival of Geocaching in Australia. The video is brilliantly done, and well set out, a really enjoyable view. Thanks for showing us.

Thanks for the info. Pretty much what I thought but best to be sure. I didn't realise though that you could do a direct SD card transfer. Will see if my MAP330 PC cable will fit it, looks the same.

Uploading Geocaches on a magellan meridian platinum

Hello, A mate of mine has a magellan meridian platinum GPS and would like to put some geocaches onto it, but the only way he knows of is to manually input the coordinates. Is there a way to get the caches from a program like GSAK and put them onto the SD card of the meridian so it can use those wayp...

Can or Do, car GPS units be used for Geocaching?

As title says, Can or do these units work for geocaching? Can we upload waypoints that are routable or is this a thing of the future?

Q2... What GPS in car navigator would be best for this job, without going silly with price.
