OK here we go how if we all use the road as the link.
Make your own individual tag but we all have the same road line on the base so as the event travels down the road so does the the PAthtags.
We just need some way of making it a series of events that occur along the way.

It will do the job just fine, but reading the specs, it doesn't seem to paperless geocaching - you'd need to take the information about the caches separately, probably on paper. How about a series of Pathtags that by them self are great but can be put side by side to form a story.

Here there doesn't matter will travel to with miniun of three of us.
