Does being a competent GSAK user make me GIS user?
Looking at a few job ads lately, I'm now wondering whether I can consider adding GIS experience to my resume, having used GSAK, and other tools over the last 7 years of caching? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geographic ... ion_system
Thoughts please.

Re: "Invisible ink" and UV torches
...... However, when testing out the idea, I’ve found that the coords are faintly visible in daylight, presumably due to the UV component in sunlight. In fact I found them quite easy to read when in shade, but with bright sunlight nearby. This was true using different varieties of white card or pap...

Re: Goodbye Geocaching Challenges
Maybe they'll embrace (their own version of) Munzees next! Oh I hope not. Better they fix what they have. Ditto that =D> They could finally get their Beta version of Wherigo to a production version and they could provide "geocaching maps" and better downloads for Waymarks for starters. Su...

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?
Mind you it just wouldn't feel the same based on power trails... :-k I was involved in the group from NZ that set a record of 195 finds in Adelaide on 12th December 2007 - waaay before power trails exisited. You're right - its not the same, however the finer end of it (the difference between a 450 ...

Re: DNF ratio
There is a graph hiding under one of the tabs which graphs Cachers by DNF ratio as well as per total DNFs.
I'm sure some-one else or C@W will add the correct page as I can't seem to locate it.

Trig Point Query
Hi, Couldn't find the answer by a search and wiki, so am wondering/assuming: The trig points are sourced from Geoscience and imported in as waypoints, thus can I assume the coordinates are accurate from the geoscience database? Then given that they are correct, if I look one up, say Point Ormond Tri...

Mapping Options
Is it possible for the Map filter options to be expanded from "Hide My Finds" and "Hide My Caches" to also include "Hide Traditionals", "Hide Multis", "Hide B&W" etc. etc. ?? Now that Groundspeak uses MapQuest their mapping is quite painful (not withstanding the fact they are missing GCA caches :) )...

Sounds like this cache, although as it is a GCA is probably isn'tTuena wrote:From that link - "An Australian cache was concealed in a burned-out car that was pushed off a cliff;"

Find 200 in a 24hour period. Been meaning to do this for ages but keep piking after only 16 hours. check out the woodlands 100 series near Melbourne airport. that ought to get you started. That would have taken me about 12 hours on foot (11 for the 81 available at the time) but where to get the oth...

Re: Cachers who refuses to sign the log book
My 2c: His log isn't a "TFTC" which I've noted in logs on other caches of yours, and at least provides some detail of his find, so why delete his log and not the "TFTC" logs too, as they didn't write about their experience? - although it is pretty rude of them to reply the way they did when you poli...

Re: Why Bother to Geocache?
Because it's the Spawn of Satan, and it's really really hard to write your name and date into a 5x5mm box (although I usually end up usings about 4 boxes to sign those darn logs).pjmpjm wrote:Why would you refuse to sign a cache log? On philosophical or religious grounds?

Re: Can GCA take a feed of Waymarks
Waymarks are also a little bit like locationless caches. i.e. The location that you get is where someone else has been, so it's kind of pointless in looking them up just to see where someone else has been. As we wouldn't show a description for the waymark (i.e. not our IP), it would essentially a l...
