I always complain about the rain, but I love it.
Pat, 2 years ago we moved from North Tamworth to cairns, has it really been that dry the whole time? Wow, until then we'd escaped the worst of the drought.

I would have thought that if you teamed up with another geocacher or more than one, the person to find the cache claims the log and the others miss out on logging it and cannot do it again in the future. However, I've come to realise that is not the way it is done. So i guess it's up to the individu...

now 40 DNFs in one day would be a highly-respected record http://www.jaiper.net/smilies/hmm.gif http://www.jaiper.net/smilies/thumbsup4.gif mm What is the record for most DNF's in one day? You know, the day you expect to be great, everything planned , everything works and you simply can't find them...

Well we are now NOT big fans of ticks. Last week our 6 year old had a severe anaphylactic reaction to a scrub tick bite! He has had one reaction before and this time it was faster and scarier. I got him to the hospital pretty quickly where they shot him up with adrenalin and monitored his oxygen in...

Hobby; Sports need some sort of defenition of "winning". Some chase numbers, others fun or hard caches but no one ever "wins". You could say that finding the cache is "winning", but are the next 200 people who find it also the "winners"? Sports just don't work that way, one person or team wins and t...

I just saw the news that Richard Hammond has been seriously injured whilst driving a jet car for Top Gear :( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/north_yorkshire/5365676.stm That sucks!!! Top Gear is the only show I actually look forward to watching each week! I'll take one of the buggies tho...

The cache that was not there? Well, I guess they contacted the owner, who checked, found it not there and replaced it. THMF's then tried again and found it :) I think it's a great achievement and the only thing that would lessen it in my eyes is if there was not at least one member of the team and p...

I wanted to try the storm water pipe PVC containers, but for $9 for an ammo tin, no work required to assemble, water proof (I immersed one for 3 days in the pond to test it) and white tailed rat proof I figure "what the hell". There's cheaper options (biscuit tins, plastic boxes etc) but I figure fo...

How accurate
How many thousandths of a minute do you expect a cache to be placed to?
Using (of course) DDD MM.MMM each thousandth is equal to approx 1.8m?
Do you exepct a cache to be located within that degree of accuracy, or say 10m? 20m? How far out before it is faulty datum?

I'm only very new to geocaching, but have been around this type of forum for years now. Every forum I've seen go democratic goes down the tube in a hurry. People simply do not agree and even if the vote goes against them, they hold a grudge. I don't know any of you, but I say if you can find someone...
