Re: "Throwdown" or "angel cache"?
The annoying part of all this is that I don't even get the chance to fix my own cache! The good part is that you don't have to. The good Samaritans have (maybe correctly) determined that your cache is missing by investigating via a friend. Remember that whilst sitting at GZ it is not always possibl...

Re: "Throwdown" or "angel cache"?
An “experienced” geocacher goes to try to find a cache which has a number of DNF s on it. They decide the cache really has gone and place a new cache at GZ and log a find. Yes we have done this on many occasions. The reasons are many and varied but include such things as: Being helpful Keeping the ...

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
Hmmm, $10,000 to run the event. Even if that's a ballpark figure, and 250 teams attend that's only $40 per team (excluding camping fees). With two councils, Magellqan and your magazine kicking in some funds (at say $1,750 each), along with the registration fees, my simple maths tell me there will be...

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
If this isn't a MEGA event, and I'm staying off site, why do I have to pay $65? What am I getting for my money? Where does my money go? :? Have a look on the official website, there's a big concert sat and entertainment sunday. Loads of fun at no extra cost for the kids, face painting, jumping cast...

Anyone who uses Nearmap will be disappointed to hear that free access has come to an end.

Re: Australian Power Trails
Talking power trails, I was told about an incident that happen last weekend on a power trail at Stanthorpe where a couple of cachers got together and one did the evens and the other the odds and logged each others names. I just wonder who they are trying to cheat. Themselves or the rest of the cach...

Who owns the land.
Discussing Geocache locations with a friend today, and wondered: Who actually owns "Public Land"?
For example if a cache is placed in a tree stump in a public park in town, does the council own the land, or are they just managing the park on behalf of the rate payers?
Legal opinions welcome.

The latest Garmin Topo Aust NZ is 2.75 Gig.
It is just possible that it will not fit into the memory of your GPS, and must go onto a SD card.

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
Quite a few people preface every log with "This is my 409th overall find" or words to that effect. Why do people need to know the number of each find? Just curious. While it's not about the numbers :D :D . . . I do like to keep track. Logs aren't just for the hider, they are a historical record for...

Re: Oregon 550
Have you tried a " Master Reset "? All settings, user data*, and satellite data may be erased when resetting the GPS. User data can be backed up to the computer by referring to the FAQ article "How do I back up user data from my outdoor GPS with a USB interface?" before performing the reset. To perf...

Yes WP based site.CraigRat wrote:Is it a wordpress based site?
There used to be some good GPX/KML based plugins I used to use, but they are not any good for non-wp sites
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/goo ... px-viewer/ is just one
That plugin looks like something I could use.
