Re: Garmin GPS Units Freezing or Turning Off?
Just reading this thread, my 600t does the same thing, it must be a new feature!

Re: How many people still visit the forums
I must admit I have not been here for quite a while. I did check in a few months ago and all was quiet in the Victorian pages. Some of my For Sale adds were still there after a year ( on the front page) so I figured the people were not interested anymore. Face book is very handy, it works easily fro...

Re: Caches to Nuvi 1450
I dont use the nuvi to find the cache, I have a Dakota & an Oregon to do that. But I do use it in the burbs for navigating through the maze of side streets to the closest point to the intended cache that we want to get. This seems (to me) to be better than balancing the laptop on ones knee whilst dr...

Re: Ghosts of caches past on Nuvi maps
I had to go through and delete them from the internal memory manually. If I remember correctly, it is possible to select all then deselect whichever favourites/waypoints you want to keep - on my 1390T it's under Tools - My Data - Delete Favourite(s). :-$ Not a great way of doing things if you have ...

Re: Ghosts of caches past on Nuvi maps
I have a Garmin Nuvi 2350 which I use for in-car navigation. However, Ive noticed that when I drive around, caches that I have already found still appear on the map - the little box symbol with the GC/GA code next to it. It's becoming quite frustrating, as I drive along and boxes come into view, bu...

Re: Caches to Nuvi 1450
Usually keep the number of caches per outing to about 1200-1500 (about 7MB), and Send straight from GSAK to GPSr. Then afterwards (Edit: when the file's no longer needed) remove the file waypoints.gpx from folder Garmin>Garmin>GPX This works for me. :) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7218/7200309178_...

Re: myGarmin ID for Basecamp
You may have to have a valid Basecamp subscription for it to work! Just signing into the Garmin website will not work. I had a subscription for a year and then relinquished it and now cannot reload my original Garmin maps on to my Oregon 300. Well I can but it only shows the main streets but not the...

Re: Caches to Nuvi 1450
After lots of googling it appears the unit may only display 1000 favourites which is annoying as the old TomTom would quite happily handle me NSW unfound database. And I can easily move with little warning outside my 1000 unfound range. I have been creating a GPX file and loading it into the GPX di...

Re: Uploading caches to Nuvi 1450T
Download the Garmin POI loader and give that a try, I use it all the time for adding .gpx files into the Nuvi . When you say export from Gsak do you use the Garmin POI... or the Mapsource file ? When I export from GSAK, I click on File > Export > Garmin POI... and go from there or to upload gpx fil...

Exporting from GSAK. I have never used the Garmin POI program for any of my Garmins, always GSAK.Skippy wrote: Not sure why that's happening. Are you using the Garmin POI loader or exporting from Gsak , It's been a long time since I've done this method

Also it only supports the nuvi 200 to 800 series and not the later ones. The Swaggies wrote: I looked at the pilot snipes one and it looks a little technical for me.

Re: Uploading caches to Nuvi 1450T
I have just deleted all the old POI's and then loaded up a POI file containing 363 caches. I selected the first cache and that was ok. Went to select the next one and the Cache name highlighted in blue, stayed like that for a couple of seconds and then the screen went blank and it shut down. After t...

How many caches did you load onto the Nuvi ? I like to keep mine under 1000 caches upto 2000 should be ok Not sure why is crashes maybe the Gsak forum people might have the answer Well yes I did load 5000 or thereabouts so I will delete thàt file and try a smaller qty. I really only need the cache ...
