Re: GARMIN DAKOTA 20
....Same resolution as the 60 series (160 x 240) however the dakota is slightly smaller both dimensions in it's screen profile. The comparison we're currently looking at is this one: The positives of the 3 axis compass and slightly cheaper is compensated by the smaller screen size and smaller resol...

Re: GARMIN DAKOTA 20
The screen resolution is a far bit lower at 160 x 240 compared to 240 x 400 even though physical size has only been reduced by around 10-15%....certain items become chunky at times. Still working out if we should purchase several Dakotas or stick with some 400C's for our SES Unit....time for some m...

GARMIN DAKOTA 20
Has anyone used the Dakota 20 for geocaching recently? Looking at the Garmin Australia web site and doing a comparison with a Oregon 300 it would seem the only difference is a smaller screen size (same as a 60) and the fact that is will not run Wherigo caches, oh and is is about $150 cheaper. It wou...

Re the Colorado vs Oregon debate, can anyone tell me which is easier to enter data into, the Colorado or a 60CSx? As Garmin Australia (but not Garmin USA) is now not selling the Colorado here there are some units still available for $100 under the current selling price and so it may be worthwhile to...

Garmin 60 Cx Upper/Lower Case Problems
I have had this 60Cx for about 3 years now and to be honest it has never given me any problems. However it has one "quirky" feature which does tend to annoy me at times. When editing the name of a waypoint for instance, the text mode will change from upper case to lower case after the first letter h...

What makes the Eee better than the Acer Aspire. Bear in mind that some of us (me) are not computer savvy. There's really little to separate most of the current crop of netbooks! One think I've seen written about the Asire is that it's not very stable (tends to fall backwards), which is something to...

Hold the phone I just copied across the first charter of Animal Farm after that and its at the end. <p> Hold that thought Wilkos, is there any chance that you can find out if TT will play avi files? It's just that I download Top Gear and Fifth Gear from a UK web site in avi format and it would be g...

Re: TOMTOM One XL- Top Tips
If only there was. Problem is it thinks the road doesn't go there, I have been driving on perfectly good dirt highways it didn't know existed, at other times been led up serious 4WD tracks. <p> Yes once in Bendigo we had 250 metres to go to a bush cache, and TT took us on a 6 kilometre detour along...

TT has done that 5 times now. Do you think that is to many files? OK to answer my own question, it would appear that 27 meg or approx 2000 HTML files is too big for a TT XL to handle and it effectively reboots al the time. Having just now deleted all those files and instead loaded in about 20 cache...

I used GSAK to export 3000 waypoints to NSW .OV2 file, and 3000 cache pages in HTML. I have always been able to access the waypoints but with the menu fix, I could also access the HTML pages on my TomTom one xl Great, thanks for the tip. Document reader works a treat, just waiting for the rest of m...

Re: TOMTOM One XL- Top Tips
Im a bit of a Newbie to this toy, but bang for buck Ive found these little beasts to be the best Caching buddies around. You have shown us how to enter one caching page, is there an easy way to save say 1000 caching pages like on my pda. Also is there any way I can stop Tom Tom from taking the most...
