Re: Geocacher finds something other than a cache (USA)
I'm still waiting for someone to report a WP or the cache of a multi we did once. It's WW2 themed and has nice WPs like, ammocan full of empty shells (2 of them have N and E coordinates), a "fieldphone" (coordinates inside), a large shell (cannon/tank?), a missile launcher, and landmine cache. While...

Re: Geelong Accommodation
In November we had a one night stay at the Best Western (after touring Tas + Grampians + Great Ocean Road) before we were to return home. Nice clean room and 10 minutes walk from "city center". Price was abt AU$190 (for 3 adults).

Re: Is there a point to puzzle caches?
Some (many?) are in it for the numbers for others (including me) it's the total experience. There's no fun in going out and logging a mystery, multi, letterbox.. without going all the way in solving everything as the CO intended. Puzzle solving is a winter pastime for us and while doing that we occa...

And yet, the bogus logs still stand and can still count towards challenges.

I see no difference. Only thing different is donuts4711's logs get deleted.J_&_J wrote:Is there much difference between what donuts4711 is doing and all the Australians who've logged "Armchair" http://coord.info/GC3JC5T ?

Re: Tomtom vs Garmin in car GPS
Does that macro use different symbols for different cache types? Yes. You get the same icons as on gc.com (green traditional, yellow multi, "earth"...). A cache with corrected coordinates is shown with an extra green "v". In fact, it all looks about the same as on my Oregon 600 map. The evening bef...

Re: Tomtom vs Garmin in car GPS
We used a TT One XL up until last year and now have a Nuvi 2597. Of course these models are ages apart (TT may be a 2005 model) but the Garmin Nuvi is a lot better in every way. GSAK + Nuvi_GPX_v2 macro puts all selected caches (+ P coordinates) onto the GPS nicely to drive to caches and last Octobe...

Re: We're baaaaack. TAS, VIC
OK, back home  We had a great time in Tas and Vic with very little rain and better than expected temperatures. Saw about all the wildlife we had on the list except very little parrots (maybe they are nesting), only one platypus from too far away, no dropbears, just one (tiger)snake from 50m awa...

Re: Nothing to do with geocaching.
Couldn't you just bring along a recording of some previous race? I mean, they're all just cars going round and round in circles and they all look the same, right? That`s what I think about football, 22 guys running behind a ball and in the end the Germans win. :-" At least we`re here now....

Found it. Fox sports5 6:00-8:00 am At least the timeframe is OK but can't find any info if the hotel offers it.. Oh well.. we'll see I don't think I ever missed a GP since the late 1970's, live or recorded. If all else fails I'll have to watch it when we get back home. 8-[ Look forward to GC5B7W0 ju...

Re: We're baaaaack. TAS, VIC
Given the ships have recently had a major revamp I would suggest that one is possibly gone, perhaps a chance to put another in it's place? :P OK.. Guess it's gone. We'll take a quick look but we'll probably try to "sleep off" jetlag on the ship as it's the best place to do so. Nothing to see in the...

Will you be bringing waffles? Yes, of course. Unfortunately, flying for 22 hours and hating airline food, there won't be any left. (probably best you don't..... Border security and all that.....) Yup.. Islands like to keep things out. I guess Oz found out the hard way when rabbits and cam...

Re: Nothing to do with geocaching.
Yes the F1 is available on free to air television here, on the Ten network. Good to know.. Sunday we'll be in Melbourne (next to Albert park \:D/ ).... TV no problem. Next one in Strahan Taz.. hopefully, next one in Portland, Vic .. probably. If I remember correctly Ten is one of the "basic" tv sta...

Re: We're baaaaack. TAS, VIC
Quick question.. I went over the GA caches and made a selection of "might do" caches. Looks like the GA's are not very popular but GA3070 A Devil of a Cache caught my eye as it's on the Spirit of Tasmania (1). We have two chances of being on that ship but the last two logs are DNFs from 2013. Any ch...

Nothing to do with geocaching.
Hi, We're counting the hours until we leave home for down under. As a Formula1 fan I'd like to know if F1 can be seen live on any tv station . Of course we will be limited to broadcasts available in our hotel/B&B... For Sunday's race we'll be in Melbourne and since the race is in the US it should be...
