Re: Garmin Software :- Base Camp vs Mapsource
If you use mapsource City navigator then you can use it for routing. As far as I know Base camp is just a base map. I have both I use Base camp less and less as it seems to have little functionality and is quite slow when loading birds eye.

Re: Multi Cache points
g'day hobie1kanobie,
There are a lot of multi caches available along the line you are talking about. If you are after real challenges try some of the puzzle (unkown) caches some of these should be more than enough for a challenge.

Re: Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
Mtrax, I don't have the Dakota so I'm not sure of your setup. Do you access dashboards via the following? Setup - Map -Data Fields -Dashboard - Then select from a number of different dashboards. I have the following Dashboards on my system. Recreational Automotive Geocaching - Nearest Stopwatch Comp...

Re: Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
do you know the dashboard with compass ,map and cache details is available now? The Dashboard you see is the nearest cache dashboard. Which is selectable from the list of dashboards under the map setup ( well at least on my Oregon 450T). I presume this will only work if the next stage is the closes...

Downloaded beta looks good. Install went fine and GPS is stable - so far. Nothing lost during the install process so there was need to reload any way points or other data.

Re: DNF on muggled caches
I agree that if you actually did some kind of search and did not come up with the goods, that warrants a DNF. Bar some exceptions ~ If you just looked out your car window as you slowed down near to where you would park and decided that getting out wasn't going to be an option. Pretty much agree wit...

There are a considerable number of great caches in the Hills and the surrounds. Keep us informed of your travels and if work permits - I am often interstate, we ma...

As said before there are gooduns and not so gooduns and that's how it's been since I started caching. There are caches that aren't hidden in a spectacular spot and there are caches where the quality isn't that good. But for maddie and I the fun is still there, If it's not a particular good cache wel...

I to would also be willing to pay a small membership fee. While I grab Cache details from GC I spend a considerable time in GCA forums. In reality it's not a lot to ask the more active cachers are likely to spend more on trinkets, caches, fuel, food etc etc. I would hate to see the site go down the ...
