Just seen this thread after returning from Townsville.

Re: Members ID numbers
Hi again https://www.geocaching.com/p/?u=magpies22 Using your cacher name as an example the above is the format that you can use to get to a cachers profile by using their name instead of their UID which is way that the system does it when clicking on their cacher name in, say, a cache log. When I d...

Re: Members ID numbers
Hi
On GC go to their public profile and then hover over the link 'View Forum Posts' and you would get a link like
'https://forums.geocaching.com/GC/index.php?/profile/11077677-West%20Oz%20Geocaching/content/'
I believe the number after 'profile/' and before their name is the one you want.

Re: Password reset required for a locationless
You edit the cache and in the codeword field is the value you want. You can keep it or change it by saving the cache listing again.

Re: Log dates
From a discussion I had with a Lackey whilst still a reviewer the date/time on the website is GMT plus or minus the timezone of where the cache is physically located which is OK when the log is done via an app at the time of the find as it makes what you see when viewing the cache on the website cor...

Re: Reverse Geocache Idea
GA8123 was a virtual reverse cache here in WA by fluffyfish. Virtual reverse with a physical final cache once there. Whilst I did it the way it was supposed to be done a more knowledgeable programmer pointed out that they could 'arm chair' it based on the code that was in place for that particular c...

Re: Importing lab caches
The other thing that I didn't point out before is that all this extraction, either in GSAK or via this GPX generator site, is done by an unofficial hack of the GC Lab Caches API which is not open to the public at present and different to the official GC cache API. Somebody found the Lab Cache API doc...

Re: Importing lab caches
I think the issue would be that they do not have a GCxxxx or GAxxxx type code so users decide on what to use and each process seems to prefer a different approach. Some, GSAK, use LCxxxx and ALxxxx where xxxx represents the 4 character 'deeplink' code used by GC. eg 'aX4p' The GPX system linked to s...

Re: Report Site Issues Here
Just noticed a field perhaps not big enough on display as OldSaint has 1000 hides but it only shows 1 for them on the following page.

Re: My GCA emails are going to junk mail
My original ISP, telstra, was advised of the need to whitelist GCA but kept loosing this setting so I changed GCA to point to a gmail email address and then had gmail redirect the GCA mail to my original telstra email address.
I've had no issues since.

Re: Unloved search
Is there a way to search for unfound (by myself) unloved caches? I tried making a querie but the choices I'm looking for don't seem to be there. Or maybe on another site like project gc? One way to do this on the GC website is to get a list of caches you haven't found in an area with their search f...

Re: Daily email error
Well, the big event for that other mob :-" has just finished and a number of new caches were published for it and they appeared in my daily email today. When I click on the GC link for a number of them they actually link to caches published overseas. It appears the "s" in the GC code is being inter...

Re: Not able to log in
I sent a message through 'Contact us', but I have not heard back. A caching friend of mine, decrypter, can't log on. So he wouldn't be able to post here. When he attempts to log on nothing happens. There is no message that the password is wrong, nothing. I can log on without any problems, but he ca...

Re: dragonZone Research Tasks
Just a query. Tasks: Find and log 5 Night Cache geocaches on the same day Find and log 5 Night Cache geocaches If the task doesn't mention 'on the same day' does that mean it can be done over a few days and just claimed after the last cache is found? (Not that either could be done here in WA at pres...
